On October 18, 2022 at approximately 10:24 P.M, Officer Steve Nothem responded to cover a call related to a traffic stop along PGBT Westbound when his squad car was hit with Officer Nothem inside. Officer Nothem was transported to the local hospital to be treated for severe injuries sustained from the crash. Unfortunately, Officer Nothem succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

 

Officer Nothem is survived by his wife, a 13-year old son, 2 6-year old sons, 1-year old daughter and extended family members.

 

Officer Nothem served with the Carrollton Police Department for 3 years, as well as prior service with the United States Marines. Officer Nothem’s death occurred approximately 1 week after Dallas Police Department Officer Jacob Arellano’s death.
