On April 28, 2023 at approximately 2:00 A.M., Sr. Cpl Scott Jay #7562 and his partner Figor responded to a call related to a shooting in Southeast Dallas.

 

Sr. Cpl Jay and his partner encountered the shooting suspect attempting to evade arrest. The suspect fired at Figor through the chest, then Sr. Cpl Jay multiple times. As Sr. Cpl Jay returned fire, Figor continued to pursue and control the suspect into arrest. The suspect was then arrested and both officers treated for their injuries.

 

Both demonstrated bravery in the face of danger and concern for citizens in the nearby area.

 

Today, Sr. Cpl Jay and Figor are continuing their respective therapies and returned to their duties.
